Thermocouple The basic unit of a power sensor is a thermocouple. A single thermocouple unit consists of two metals connected in series, a thermocouple is a sensor used to measure temperature. Thermocouple power sensors work by absorbing incident laser radiation and converting it to heat, which then flows to a heat sink.
